He has also held positions, such as, Chancellor, Rashtriya Sanskrit Vidyapeeth (Deemed University), Tirupati, Board Member, TTD Trust Board, Chairman, Indian Council of Social Science Research, New Delhi, Director General, Research and Information System for Developing Countries, New Delhi, among others. He is a well known scholar in two disciplines, viz. Economics and Sanskrit.
