Assistant Professor, ECE · Indian Institute of Science
Dr. Prathosh’s Vāgdhenu is a Sanskrit text-to-speech system designed for śloka recitation. It identifies a verse’s metre (vṛtta) and uses that structure to shape the generated chant, including its rhythm and syllable durations. Its Sanskrit speech processing also attends to pronunciation and the joining of sounds.
With his agreement to share his work, we have built our own audio-generation software on Vāgdhenu’s foundation to prepare Sanskrit stotra recitations for Jnana Kosha. His research and generosity made this work possible. We gratefully acknowledge the knowledge, effort and trust he has shared with us.
Authors, scholars and publishers
We thank the authors for writing the books, articles and chapters that enrich this library and bring its learning to readers. We also gratefully acknowledge the composers of stotras, scholars, editors and publishers who contribute to the collection. Names and source details accompany the works wherever they are supplied by the publisher.
The voices and craft behind our audiobooks
Our thanks to the voice-over artists and narrators who have contributed to the audiobooks and audio magazines, bringing each work to life with their voices. We also thank the background-music composers and musicians, audio editors, sound engineers and audio technicians whose care in recording, editing, mixing and production makes listening a pleasure. Their contributions are an essential part of this library.
The people behind the library
We also thank everyone who contributes to preparing, organising and reviewing the collection, and the readers and listeners who help improve it through thoughtful corrections and suggestions.
