Who operates the app
Jnana Kosha is a devotional and educational library from Sri Raghavendra Swamy Matha, Mantralayam. Contact us at onlineservices@srsmatha.org for privacy questions, feedback or a request concerning information you have submitted.
Web stotra library
The public web library displays published stotra text and available recitations without a reader account. Searches and filters are sent to the Matha’s server. Text-size and reading-appearance choices are saved in your browser’s local storage and can be removed by clearing this site’s browser data. The web library does not add analytics or advertising trackers. Web correction reports contain your message, work and script context, and an optional reply email, and are handled by the editorial team as described below. Browser sharing sends the page link only through the sharing option you choose. Web servers and media hosts receive the technical request information described below.
Preferences and reading progress
Language, appearance, text size, PDF bookmarks, page position and audio resume positions are stored on your device. There is no reader account or cross-device synchronisation. Unsubmitted feedback drafts also remain on your device. Device backups may include local app data according to your operating-system settings.
Library and media requests
Search terms and selected filters are sent to the library service to find works. Covers, PDFs and audio are requested over HTTPS from publisher media hosts. These servers receive information needed to deliver and protect the service, such as IP address, request time, resource and technical headers. Hosting providers may maintain operational and security logs. Contact us for questions about records relating to your use of the service.
Optional usage and diagnostics
Usage reporting is off by default. If you enable it in Settings, the app sends a random installation identifier, session identifier, content or screen activity, platform, app version and error category to the Matha’s library server. Usage events do not contain reading text, feedback messages or reply email addresses. The server provides a maintenance procedure to remove first-party usage events older than 90 days.
On Firebase-configured mobile platforms, the same opt-in also enables Google Analytics and Firebase Crashlytics. Google processes app interactions, identifiers, device information and crash diagnostics, which may include stack traces. We do not use this information for advertising or cross-app tracking. Turning reporting off stops future reporting and clears the app’s queued usage events and local usage identifier; it does not automatically erase records already received by a server. You may contact us about those records.
Library notifications
Notifications are optional and require your permission. Firebase Cloud Messaging uses a device registration token to deliver library updates. Disabling library notifications unsubscribes the device and requests deletion of its Firebase messaging token. Apple or Google also processes information needed to deliver notifications through its platform services.
Feedback and corrections
Messages are submitted inside the app to the library service. Submission includes the message, relevant content context and an optional reply email address. The editorial team uses these details to review and respond to your report. Reports are retained while needed for that work and related administration; you can contact us to request deletion. Avoid including sensitive or unnecessary personal information. A saved draft is not a submitted report.
Documents and sharing
PDF libraries and the operating system may cache documents to display them. Sharing captures only the visible app content, not your other apps or device screen. Temporary share images older than 24 hours are removed when a new share is prepared. You choose the recipient or service through the system share sheet; the app does not automatically post shared content. The chosen service handles it under its own privacy practices.
Permissions and audio
The app does not require access to your contacts, camera, microphone or location and does not record your voice. Audio generation is part of preparing the library; reading or listening does not send your voice to an audio-generation service. Background audio and media controls operate while you listen.
Your choices
You can change preferences, disable diagnostics or notifications, and remove bookmarks in the app. Uninstalling removes local storage subject to device backup behaviour. Send requests concerning information held by the library service to onlineservices@srsmatha.org, providing enough context to locate the relevant report without sharing unnecessary personal details.
Updates
Changes to this policy will be made available in the app and on the app’s privacy page. External sharing services, websites and app stores have their own policies. A parent or guardian should assist younger readers when submitting feedback or sharing information.
